Made of Money

Conceived from a dream, Short Changed explores the topics of capitalism, corruption, poverty and parenthood.

“The inspiration for this film came to me just as I was trying to get to sleep, two years before my final film was due. It was just one big coin person towering over a tiny coin person at the start, but it developed into this film I made for my final year. The basis is that everyone is made of coins, which means wealth is very visually represented in this society, which is something I wanted to comment on".

Preferring to work with natural or found materials, Zoë's attention to detail and copper set designs create a strong aesthetic to accompany her tale.

Short Changed will be screening at the 14th edition of The World Festival of Animated Film in Varna, Bulgaria, which takes place between the 12th and 16th of September.
